    • Memorial Day

On May the 30th we remember those who have fallen while in service to the Unites States Armed Forces.

This is a day recognized all across the US as a day of mourning for those lost. It is a day for remembrance of those family members who never came back, or those comrades one never got the chance to see again. It is a day to visit perhaps those lost to remember not only that they are gone, but all of the fond memories they gave before they left. It is a day to grieve, but also to honor those who fought and paid with their lives to protect what they stood for.

Therefore we remember them and their memory.

Today I remember the three great men who served with my uncle. Sgt. Rene Knox Jr., SGT Dakotah Gooding. and SSG Chad Lake. All three served with him in the Third Infantry Division. It's the reason I chose the 3rd ID and I will be forever grateful that these men kept my uncle alive.
