Unit wide ceremony! 1300EDT - First Sunday of each Month

    Company CTC Mission 1- Convoy/EDRE Operations 07APR24
    OVERALL CTC SUMMARY:
Finish Government has allowed us to occupy forces on an island of Napf in the Baltic sea with the Swedish forces as a staging position in response to the riots in the country. Napf island is a small island that has a population of roughly 40,000 people on it. Due to its large amounts of unused land, the Finnish Government have utilized it for large scale training exercises and a staging position for allied military’s before they come to the mainland.

    Current Situation:
Our CTC (Combined Training Center) rotation will cover a 4 week evaluation period on the island of Napf, a training area in the Gulf of Bothnia owned by Finland. Once we complete this CTC, we will be certified to deploy in support of the Finnish Government.
The Finnish military currently has the Kainuu BDE relocated in the North Eastern Military Base in order to give the Swedish and US Forces plenty of space to train in. They have identified locations no Swedish and US forces can go into on the map by red areas. Additionally they have a multiple BN’s of Irregulars located throughout the island being trained by the Kainuu BDE.
The Swedish forces have already occupied the South West portion with the Norrland Dragoon Regiment. The US forces have already staged some initial equipment but most forces are located in the Naval Convoy to the Southwest of the Island.

    Current Unit Disposition of Napf

    1: Mission Summary:
War Eagles will move off of the ships to the Southwestern Airfield and conduct an Expeditionary Deployment Readiness Exercise (EDRE) across the island. At the same time, 3CAB will assist the Norrland Dragoons (Swedish Forces) and transport equipment over to the Southeast Airstrip as they establish their new base location. War Eagles will be flown onto the Airfield, occupy staged vehicles, and conduct their convoy around the island, clearing the route and Objectives as they move.

2: Enemy Situation (Area of Interest):
Company Evaluation has no "Big Picture" Enemy AO information.

3: Enemy situation (Area of Operation):
The enemy force seen today will be a collections of rioters located across the AO. Currently there is a concentration or rioters located in three locations that War Eagles will need to address; OBJ Frost Sweep, OBJ Blizzard, and OBJ Whiteout. OBJ Frost Sweep is an enemy platoon that has occupied the small factory and refuses to give it back to the police. OBJ Blizzard is a lumber mill that the rioters have turned into a local headquarters that needs to be cleared. OBJ Whiteout is a rioter town that also has a maintenance shop, repairing old soviet era BTR’s. Additionally, the Rioters have occupied and established ambushes along the routes within the AO. Expect complex ambushes, blocked roads, and mines on and around the routes.

    Enemy Situation

4: Friendly Situation (Area of Interest):
War Eagles will conduct two operations simultaneously. The first will be a rapid deployment through the air to the Southwest Airfield. Once landed, Widowmakers and Griffins will then occupy staged equipment and conduct an EDRE to clear a route and all three objectives in the AO. The second mission will be to transport a resupply of equipment to OBJ Snowfall by 3CAB. Any flights going to OBJ Snowfall must have an armed escort.

(Widowmakers and Griffins will move by Helicopter to the Airfield, occupy their vehicles, and conduct their convoy operations around the AO)

(3CAB will conduct resupply operations to the South Airstrip from the fleet once they have dropped off Widowmakers and Griffins for their EDRE)

    5: Company Mission:
War Eagles Company will conduct an EDRE to OBJ Frost Sweep, OBJ Blizzard, and OBJ Whiteout NLT 06APR24 in order to clear the local area of rioters and establish a safe route for the remained of the CTC rotation. Simultaneously, 3CAB will conduct aerial resupply for the Norrland Dragoons at OBJ Snowfall NLT 06APR24 in order to allow the Swedish Forces to establish a FOB in the Southeastern portion of Napf Island

    6: Tasks to Subordinate Units:
    A) Widowmakers:
Attack to clear OBJs Frost Sweep, Blizzard, and Whiteout of all rioters in the area.
Identify and mark a route in the AO for friendly forces to utilize for future patrols.
Deliver one supply truck of IDAP food supplies to the factories at OBJ Frost Sweep

    B) Griffins:
Conduct a route reconnaissance between OBJ Frost Sweep, Blizzard, and Whiteout for Widowmaker Platoon.
Conduct an Area Reconnaissance around OBJ Frost Sweep, Blizzard, and Whiteout to identify enemy Battle Positions.
Conduct a raid on an enemy communications tower located somewhere southeast of OBJ Frost Sweep.

    C) 3CAB:
Conduct an air insertion of all Widowmaker and Griffin elements from the naval group to the Southwest Airfield
Conduct an armed aerial resupply of OBJ Snowfall of two ammo crates, two Swedish APCs, and four Swedish Gun Trucks
Provide Close Combat Aviation of Widowmakers and Griffin Platoon as they conduct their EDRE.

    7: Additional Resources:
    A) Artillery/ Mortars:
One platoon of Swedish tracked mortars are in support of the War Eagles. They have offered enough ammunition for two planned Fire missions throughout the operation (HE or Smoke only). They will service Targets of Opportunity on a case by case basis. Their callsign is Moneyshot.
    B) Detection Assets:
    N/A

    C) Air to Surface Assets:
    N/A

    8: Rules of Engagement
    - This area is a training ground but still houses civilians. Enemy forces will be clearly identified in woodland camouflage. Any forces in snow camouflage are considered friendly due to other units training on the island.
    - Any areas with a red shade over them are considered off limits by the Finnish forces and are not to be entered.
    - Enemy uniformed personnel are free to engage within the assigned AO. Any engagements outside of the Company AO must be approved by Company leadership. No indirect fires (IDF, Aerial, and Mk19) within 250 meters of any building unless confirmed there is no civilian presence or approval from Company leadership. Civilians are not part of the CTC, so do not interact with them.
    - Due to limitations of supply into the region, Hellfires on drones have been limited. Only 4 hellfires are authorized for this mission.
    - Due to continued civilian use of the airspace, all military aircraft will be held to 2000 meters AGL or less. Finnish forces have informed us that any military equipment that breaks the restriction are subject to engagement.

Company CTC Mission 2- Offensive Operations 14APR24

As we saw the last week, the Finnish Military is being difficult with Coalition forces. The tensions between the military and the government is evident with Finnish forces sending drones to observe our training as well as closing off areas as they dictate, no matter what we are doing. It is imperative that we remain neutral with Finnish forces and not add to the tensions already present on the island.
The Swedish forces have already occupied the South West portion with the Norrland Dragoon Regiment. The US forces have already staged some initial equipment but most forces are located in the Naval Convoy to the Southwest of the Island.
Week 1 was an expedient deployment from ships onto the island directly into a movement into the training AO. From there we conducted convoy operations to evaluate the Company on their ability to face enemy forces while on the move and to transport equipment to various locations. We identified that the units can operate in convoy operations as necessary but need to be more deliberate to avoid identified ambush locations.

    Current Unit Disposition of Napf

    1: Mission Summary:
War Eagles will conduct offensive operations on the island of Napf. This portion of the operation will be evaluated on a cordon and search for OBJ Blizzard Strike, a deliberate attack on a complex objective at OBJ Frozen Frontier, and a movement to contact to clear enemy forces in the area around OBJ Arctic Thunder. The Company as a whole will be evaluated on their ability to coordinate with one another on offensive operations.

2: Enemy Situation (Area of Interest):
Company Evaluation has no "Big Picture" Enemy AO information.

3: Enemy situation (Area of Operation):
The enemy force seen today will be a collections of rioters located across the AO. Currently there is a concentration or rioters located in three locations that War Eagles will need to address; OBJ Blizzard Strike, OBJ Frozen Fortress, and OBJ Arctic Thunder. OBJ Blizzard Strike is a small town that has had a presence of rioters. They have also stored equipment and supplies in the town that must be identified and disposed of. OBJ Frozen Fortress is a Rioter stronghold that have multiple complex obstacles belts around it preventing any forces from approaching. These obstacles will need to be breached to secure the local dam. OBJ Arctic thunder is an area with enemy presence in it. The enemy’s location is unknown and will need to be searched to identify any headquarters and clear out any forces. Expect to see an influx of enemy equipment to include turret emplacements, motorized armor assets, and additionally an armor and mechanized PLT in support of the enemy formations. We are stepping up the enemy's capabilities since there have been reports of the rioters obtaining older soviet equipment. It appears the Rioters in the country of Finland have been getting outside help, although we are not sure where it is coming from yet. The Finnish military has been difficult with information prior to the deployment, so we will prepare as if the rioters have some older soviet era equipment.
    Enemy Situation

4: Friendly Situation (Area of Interest):
War Eagles will conduct offensive operations for this week. The tasks to be conducted will be a cordon and search of a town, a deliberate attack of a complex obstacle and position, and a movement to contact in an area. The Company as a whole will be evaluated on their ability to coordinate between the different elements to accomplish these tasks. With the growing concerns of the Rioters capabilities, we are going to present the Company with a hybrid threat in prepared positions.

(Widowmakers and Griffins will move by ground to all objectives)

    5: Company Mission:
War Eagles Company will conduct a cordon and Search of OBJ Blizzard Strike, a deliberate attack of OBJ Frozen Fortress, and a movement to contact to clear at OBJ Arctic Thunder NLT 14 APR 24 in order to show that the Company as a whole can conduct combined arms offensive operations.

    6: Tasks to Subordinate Units:
    A) Widowmakers:
    - Cordon and Search OBJ Blizzard Strike for enemy equipment being stored in the area.
    - Attack to seize OBJ Frozen Fortress to clear enemy forces in their defensive positions around the dam.
    - Conduct a Movement to Contact to clear OBJ Arctic Thunder it find and neutralize enemy forces in the area.

    B) Griffins:
    - Identify a route for Widowmaker Platoon to each OBJ.
    - Conduct an Area Reconnaissance around OBJ Blizzard Strike and Frozen Fortress to identify enemy defensive positions
    - Conduct a counter reconnaissance between OBJ Frozen Fortress and Arctic Thunder to clear any possible enemy influence on friendly forces as they move between the OBJ’s.

    C) 3CAB:
    - Conduct an armed aerial evacuation of civilians from OBJ Frozen Fortress to the main airbase once the town has been cleared. Additionally transport any enemy equipment back to the airfield once it has been secured.
    - Conduct an armed aerial reconnaissance of OBJ Blizzard Strike in support of Widowmaker Platoon. Each engagement will be directly coordinated with FO’s.
    - Provide Close Combat Aviation of Widowmakers and Griffin Platoon as they conduct their attacks on OBJ Arctic Thunder and OBJ Frozen Fortress

    7: Additional Resources:
    A) Artillery/ Mortars:
One platoon of Swedish tracked mortars are in support of the War Eagles. They have offered enough ammunition for three planned Fire missions throughout the operation (HE or Smoke only). They will service Targets of Opportunity on a case by case basis. Their callsign is Moneyshot.

    B) Detection Assets:
There are no detection assets available at this time.

    C) Air to Surface Assets:
There are no air to surface assets available at this time.

    8: Rules of Engagement
    - This area is a training ground but still houses civilians. Enemy forces will be clearly identified in woodland camouflage. Any forces in snow camouflage are considered friendly due to other units training on the island.
    - Do not utilize any explosives or weapons larger then 12.7mm within the vicinity of the dam.
    - Finnish Forces appear to be harassing coalition forces on the island during training, do not engage or interfere with them. We do not need an incident with our hosts while we train on the island.
OVERALL CTC SUMMARY:

Last week the Finnish military reported US forces shooting down one of their drones. They have expressed displeasure and have stated they will not tolerate another situation like this. Additionally, two other Finnish BDE's (on mainland Finland) have openly been calling for a Government Regime change. The Coalition is assuming these are just verbal bluffs and do not expect this to become any bigger then it is already.
Week 2 was an offensive operation from the airfield across the southern portion of the island.  This was to test the Company on their ability to conduct a proper cordon and search, offensive operation on a complex objective, and a movement to contact. The Company was only able to fully complete the Cordon and Search and attack through a complex obstacle and failed to finish the Movement to contact. We have identified that the company can conduct offensive operations, but will need to coordinate for better effects going forward.

    Current Unit Disposition of Napf

    1: Mission Summary:
War Eagles will conduct defensive operations on the island of Napf. This portion of the operation will be evaluated on establishing a perimeter defense, developing engagement areas, and coordinating Artillery, Aerial, and Reconnaissance assets for a defense. Finally the Company will be evaluated on a retrograde out of the area.

2: Enemy Situation (Area of Interest):
Company Evaluation has no "Big Picture" Enemy AO information.

3: Enemy situation (Area of Operation):
The enemy force seen today will be a collections of rioters located across the AO. They currently hold the Road running east to west in the northern portion of the AO, giving them access to all routes running south towards the town of Hirsegg. The enemy’s plan is to move south and occupy Hirsegg before friendly forces leave the area. The Enemy will have roughly 4 platoons of Infantry/Light Technicals, 2 Platoons of BTR’s with Infantry, and a Platoon of Tanks and BMP’s they will use against friendly forces.
    Enemy situation

4: Friendly Situation (Area of Interest):
War Eagles will set up a perimeter around Hirsegg and repel attacks from enemy forces from the north.
