SITUATION Over a decade after a USMC-CDF coalition defeated the communist insurgency in Chernarus, ChDKZ forces have begun to operate again along the border with Russia. Locals report seeing armed men in fatigues near Devil's Castle, which was recently closed for renovation by the Chernarussian Ministry of the Interior. Last night the Hon. David Dulik, mayor of Grishino, was kidnapped by gunmen who fled north in a military vehicle. Given Dulik's vocal support for the CDF contingent at the airbase, and the recent reemergence of the ChDKZ, CDF intelligence reports it is most likely the insurgents and kidnapping are linked. 2. MISSION After a CDF Special Forces recon team was compromised early this morning near Devil's Castle, Chernarussian president Ludvík Skala requested the help of USMC Force Recon. In support of our Chernarussian allies, FR Alpha CO, 1st PL has been deployed to USS Freedom off the coast of South Zagoria. The Joint Chiefs of Staff orders 1st PL to raid Devil's Castle, kill/capture any ChDKZ forces, and rescue Mayor Dulik if present. Afterward, 1st PL will return to ORP Oorah (CDF Airbase) for exfil. 3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (a) SPECIAL TEAMS/TASK ORG 1. A-CO., 1st PL USMC Force Recon 2. Civilians are presumed to be noncombatant, but ChDKZ has historically had high support among residents along the Russian border. Spies are likely present in and around the AO.
