WARNORD 24 APR 20 

1. SITUATION

Ten years from now, the battle-hardened veterans of the 3rd Infantry Division are living the high life as private military contractors. With the Second Takistani Civil War grinding into its third year, Armex Security Solutions is looking to corner its share of the market. Landing a contract with IDAP, your team has established a regional HQ north of Zargabad.

The situation in-country is dire. Takistani military and police forces have lost ground against ISIS over the past year, feeding the fear and despair of the Takistani people. Insurgents make regular small arms and IED attacks against military and civilian targets in the AO. Militants are known to frequent the Zargabad Great Mosque to gain intel and recruit members. To make matter worse, IDAP has shared a NATO report that states that ISIS is staging for a regional spring offensive.

2. MISSION

Armex is assigned a VIP protection mission in Zargabad. A-Team will convoy to Zargabad airport to secure the VIP, IDAP Envoy to Takistan Duke Napalmem. The team will then transport its cargo to the Villa northeast of town for a luncheon with the city’s mayor, Abdullah Hazzam. Once the meeting is finished, return the VIP to the airport for extraction. Our instructions from IDAP Command are clear. No one gets near the VIP unless he says so. No one.

Zargabad, the bustling capital of Takistan, is a veritable den of thieves, home to a number of deadly threats. Both the Takistani Army and National Police Force are corrupt and virtually incompetent. The local powers that be cannot be trusted or relied upon. ISIS, al Qaeda, and Iranian-backed Shi’ite militia operate in and around the city. Militants and criminal gangs earn income through extortion, kidnapping, drug-dealing, and arms-trafficking.

 

Of all OPFOR, ISIS is the most prominent threat to NATO and other BLUFOR. The ISIS Regional commander, Takistani warlord Abu Ali Achmed, operates his HQ somewhere in the AO. He has established sleeper cells within Zargabad and is rumored to have cached weapons and explosives in the surrounding countryside. Captured operatives have revealed plans for a new ISIS offensive against the Takistani Army and Police this spring. Any BLUFOR or IDAP units operating in the AO must take maximum security precautions. The unarmed and untrained who fail to heed this warning can expect to end up beheaded on camera.
