The Battle of Utes

 

WARNORD 07AUG20 - Operation: Swirly

 

1. SITUATION

 

After failing in their revolution against the Chernarussian democratic government, the remnants of the ChDKZ have fled in exile to the Russian Federation. For years, CDF military intelligence has warned of an eventual reemergence of the Red Star communist insurgency. Yet to date, no clear evidence of an impending Second Civil War has materialized.

 

However, in a shocking move, ChDKZ commandos have assaulted the island of Utes. Located 25km off the southeastern coast of Chernarus, it was never considered a target for land-based Red Star forces. But with aid from the Russian Spetsnaz, the entire island now lies in insurgent hands.

 

2. MISSION

 

MARSOC is ordered to flush out and destroy Red Star forces on Utes. Insert via helo at LZ Plunger. Immediately assault the village of Strelka (OBJ Bowl) and establish control of the lighthouse and main intersection. Then clear the captured army camp (OBJ Seat) of any ChDKZ forces. Next, capture the Utes airbase (OBJ Tank). Based on drone and signals intelligence, this target is expected to be heavily fortified and reinforced. Be on guard against Russian air assets. Clear the military depot northwest of the airbase (OBJ Handle). Finally, sweep and clear the village of Kamenyy (OBJ Lid) of any residual Red Star/Russian forces.

 

Although sparsely populated, Utes does have a civilian presence. ROE is military-aged male in a uniform with weapon(s). Ensure PID on all targets. Let’s make sure we keep the civilians on our side.
