The Battle of Virojoki

1. SITUATION

Two days ago, Russian Armed Forces crossed the border into eastern Finland in a full-scale attack. The Parliament of Finland has officially requested NATO and UN assistance. Although not a NATO signatory, Finland has developed a close working relationship with Brussels in recent years. The White House has pledged full support to Helsinki.

Last night, 1/75 Rangers parachuted into Virolahti and neutralized General Yuri Brusilov, commander of the 6th Combined Arms Army. Russian command has been temporarily disrupted, but additional reinforcements are streaming across the border towards Virojoki. NATO ground forces have landed east of Helsinki and are preparing to push east to face the threat.

2. MISSION

First Platoon has reached ORP Metsästäjä. From there, push east down Highway 7 to Virojoki to engage the Russian garrison in the city. Clear the western, southern, and eastern sectors of enemy forces. Once you have secure the east side of Virojoki River, dig in and await reinforcement.
