1. SITUATION

Now over a decade since the ChDKZ defeat at the hands of CDF-NATO coalition forces, Red Star insurgents have begun to operate again along the border with Russia. Civilians report that armed men have been seen at Devil's Castle, which was closed last year by the Chernarussian Ministry of the Interior. Overnight, the Hon. David Dulik, mayor of Grishino, was kidnapped by gunmen who fled north in a olive drab UAZ. Dulik is an outspoken supporter of the CDF. Given the reemergence of Chedaki forces in the area, the Chernarussian government reports it is likely that the insurgents are behind the kidnapping.

After a CDF Special Forces recon team was compromised early this morning near Devil's Castle, Chernarussian president Ludvík Skala requested the help from NATO and the US. Local fishermen report that the USS Freedom, stationed 120km off the coast of South Zagoria, was seen steaming toward Chernogorsk several hours ago.

2. MISSION

Your Red Star cell has built a FOB at Devil’s Castle. Tasked by your commander with carrying out raids and attacks on CDF forces in the vicinity, last night you kidnapped Mayor Dulik. Hold him at Devil’s Castle until a prisoner swap can be arranged with the Chernarussian government. Defend the castle against any attempt to rescue the mayor. It is better to kill Dulik than to lose him to the CDF.

In the past 6 hours, 3x helicopters and at least 2x jets have landed at Joint Base Cherni, southwest of the castle. Armored vehicles could also be heard moving on or near the base.
