Posted August 17, 2021 WARNORD Fun Op 20AUG21 Mission: Blue Wave 1. SITUATION In late 2010, the Altian national economy began to decline in the wake of a global recession. Years before the Civil War, there was little political violence in spite of tensions in the capital. But everyday Altians began to turn to the black market and criminal activities to secure income. More and more, armed gangs began to extort others, and an underground trade in drugs, guns, and prostitutes began to flourish. Recently the commander at Stratis Airbase, General Maximos, complained to President Pappos about the rising crime and drug abuse adjacent to the base. The General even went so far as to say that the breakdown of law and order was becoming a threat to national security. The Altian National Police Force has bolstered its presence on Stratis due to the increased crime, with President Pappos authorizing an aggressive sweep of the island. Law enforcement officers are authorized to erect checkpoints, conduct stings, and raid locations suspected of use in or for criminal activities. 2. MISSION The Altian National Police Force contingent on Stratis is ordered to organize and carry out a dragnet across the island. Officers are to focus in particular on disruption of drug manufacturing and sales, weapons proliferation, and human trafficking. Take custody of all suspects and contraband and transport them to ANPF HQ in Agia Marina for booking and prosecution. Be advised that Camp Maxwell and Camp Rogain are be occupied by Altian Armed Forces garrisons. While they may be of assistance in criminal investigations involving Altian soldiers, you are not to interfere with their security operations. 3. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (a) SPECIAL TEAMS/TASK ORG 1. Posted August 19, 2021 In the past week, rival drug gangs have declared open war on each other across Stratis. Fueling the violence with more drugs and guns, smuggling kingpin Stefanos Sarakis is now at the top of the list of Most Wanted Criminals in Altis and Stratis. Informants indicate that he and his army of smugglers come and go by air or sea as they please, bringing contraband in and taking cold, hard cash out. Declared Public Enemy #1, Sarakis is now the Altian National Police Force's top priority.
