    Party Time
    Situation
Alpha Company is building momentum against ISIS forces on Bozcaada. After clearing the north-central plain of enemy forces and kindling ties to local civilians, War Eagles exploited  intel that revealed jihadists are gathering in the capital city of Merkez.
Reports indicate that a company-size ISIS force has stormed the city and destroyed the main police station. A Turkish National Guard garrison was subsequently driven from the area after a pitched battle. Residents claim that insurgents are fortifying the area, laying mines and IEDs, and executing anyone they claim is supporting US forces on the island.
Intel also shows that Kurdish civilians in the southeastern region have formed a militia and begun to procure heavy weapons. Calling themselves the ‘Sons of Qardu’, this force claims not to oppose NATO and the US, but exists to defend the Kurdish community from ISIS threats.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to capture the city of Merkez and eliminate ISIS forces in the metropolitan area.
First Platoon “Widowmakers,” with reconnaissance and support from Second Platoon “Griffins,” is tasked with assaulting three objectives within the greater Merkez area. First is OBJ Sparkler, a mountaintop communications center captured by ISIS. This facility provides the enemy with long range communications, specifically with ISIS forces in Syria. Second is OBJ Noisemaker, Merkez’ western district. This residential area has been fortified and sits as the western gateway into the downtown district. Finally, there is OBJ Icing, the Merkez old city.
Aviation elements are tasked with monitoring enemy movements and destroying mobile armored targets that have moved outside of the city.
Explosives, indirect fires, and GTA munitions are restricted within OBJ Icing due to the large civilian presence. Calls for fire must have Company approval prior to initiation and execution.
Rules of Engagement: Military-age male with mixed camo uniform and combat kit. Suicide bombers and VBIEDs are likely; warning shots are authorized for incoming vehciles at 100 m and incoming dismounts at 50 m.

    Presence Patrol #6
    Situation
Following Mission Party Time, Turkish forces completed mop-up of the Merkez area, killing one ISIS fighter who had hidden in a garbage pile and later attempted to flee. However, there have been several violent incidents reported over the past few days, including local warnings of Kurdish hit squads are moving at night and executing accused ISIS supporters, predominantly Arab men living on the southeast part of the island.
The NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre suspects that the Sons of Qardu, a newly formed Kurdish militia, is responsible for the murders. Due to the limited presence of Turkish National Guard and police forces, War Eagles will patrol along the eastern coastal area to gain additional information about the Sons of Qardu and the security situation in southeastern Bozcaada. It is our intent to prevent any further outbreak of insurgency on the island.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to patrol the Bozcaada eastern coastal area to gain additional information about the Sons of Qardu and possible remaining ISIS forces.
First Platoon “Widowmakers” is tasked with patrolling through Patrol Area Caesar to gain intel from local civilians and locate possible Kurdish and ISIS positions and caches. Infantry must establish positive relations with the public in order to gain as much information as possible.
Second Platoon “Griffins” is tasked with scouting the western edge of PA Caesar and POI Porcus and Hastatus for armed insurgents. Screen First Platoon’s movements and provide early warning for possible enemy movements.
3CAB “Falcons” is tasked with transport, resupply, scout, and CAS sorties as required by ground force commanders.
Rule of Engagement: Military age male with mixed camo uniform, weapon, and combat kit. Suicide bombers and VBIEDs are possible; warning shots are authorized for vehicles at 100 m and dismounts at 50 m. For all other armed contacts NOT confirmed to be ISIS, fire when fired upon. Do not start a battle with the Kurds.

    Presence Patrol #7
    Situation
As ISIS collapsed on Bozcaada under the weight of our offensive, resurgent PKK militants have staged a general uprising in coordination with Kurdish militia in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. These reactivated forces are deemed terrorists under US and international law, and they pose a significant threat to peace and security in the region, including NATO personnel and other assets.
A PKK battalion has begun fortifying southeastern Bozcaada and is encroaching on Merkez City and FOB Anderson. Three Turkish policemen were shot and killed Monday night, adding to the security dilemma. The Turkish National Guard garrison in Merkez refuses to leave the city, giving Alpha Company no choice but to continue clearing operations unassisted.
    Mission
Alpha Company "War Eagles" is ordered to clear Patrol Area SANDLOT of Sons of Qardu and any other hostile armed insurgents. First Platoon "Widowmakers" is tasked with house-to-house clearance operations with the support of Second Platoon "Griffins" and 3CAB "Falcons".
POI include: Mound, a residential compound with heat signatures of at least 12 personnel; Third Base, a fortified camp capture from ISIS last week but reoccupied by unknown forces; Right Field, an area with fresh defensive earthworks; and Left Field a rocky depression seen occupied by vehicles and flood lights early this morning.
Rule of Engagement: Military age male with mixed camo uniform, weapon, and combat kit. Turkish forces are restricted to Merkez city and will not enter PA SANDLOT.

    Leaden Strand
    Situation
DOD has confirmed that the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) is sending additional fighters to Bozcaada from mainland Turkey. With Alpha Company’s clearance of Patrol Area Caesar last week, the surviving Sons of Qardu members and PKK reinforcements have concentrated themselves in the southeast area of operations and begun to build extensive fortifications. SIGINT reveals they are planning to reattempt a counterattack on FOB Anderson once 200 additional fighters reach the island.
A few hours ago, armed militants raided a concrete plant southwest of Merkez and stole every bag of cement they could carry off. Drone footage from the southeast AO shows building foundations being dug into several high points. There is also an exceptionally high level of cellphone traffic between a tower in the southeast and the city of Merkez.
In addition, S-2 has identified the commander of the Sons of Qardu, Goran Musafir. The chief is an experienced fighter who fought with the PKK in eastern Turkey in the late 1990s. He is a designated international terrorist and is wanted for murder by the Turkish government.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to assault strongpoints held by the Sons of Qardu in the southeastern highlands. These Kurdish insurgents are affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and are receiving reinforcements, weapons, and ammunition smuggled from mainland Turkey.
Second Platoon “Griffins” is tasked with reconnaissance of the AO and scouting of hard targets such as enemy armor and fortifications in support of First Platoon at the following objectives:
OBJ Lifeguard - Amphibious landing zone used for PKK insert
OBJ Bath House - Sons of Qardu OP/strongpoint with heavy fortifications
OBJ Log Cabin - Suspected SoQ/PKK joint HQ
OBJ Loudspeaker - Enemy comms station
OBJ Driftwood PKK harbor utilized by watercraft and crews prior to return to the mainland First Platoon “Widowmakers” is tasked with conducting an amphibious landing behind the insurgents’ lines of fortifications to capture all of these objectives in order to destroy PKK’s ability to conduct offensive operations against Turkish and NATO forces on Bozcaada.
3CAB “Falcons” is tasked with general and offensive air support, i.e. reconnaissance, transport, resupply, and CAS as requested. Pilots must identify and track watercraft in the AO in addition to ground targets in case of PKK insertion from Turkey.
All call signs are ordered to be on the lookout for enemy HVT Goran Musafir (Kill/Capture).
Rule of Engagement: Military age male with mixed camo uniform with Kurdistan flag patch, weapon, and combat kit.

    Presence Patrol #8
    Situation
In the wake of Alpha Company’s destruction of Kurdish insurgent strongpoints on Bozcaada, surviving Sons of Qardu and PKK revolutionaries have retreated into Merkez. The local majority Kurdish population largely supports the insurgent uprising and willing civilian supporters are housing fighters in the city.
A willing civilian informant codenamed “Genie” has credible intelligence indicating that HVT Goran Musafir will attempt to exfil Bozcaada by submarine. SoQ have placed sentries at the Merkez dockyard but have otherwise disappeared into the shadows. No military vehicles have been spotted in the city. The local police station and several police vehicles have been abandoned, and the skeleton crew of officers has vanished.
The reactivated 4th Battalion of the Turkish 2nd Infantry Regiment is deploying to Bozcaada to reestablish national control of the area and allow 3rdID to move to the next AO. Until they arrive, US forces hold the island.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to patrol the city of Merkez and locate and clear all Kurdish insurgent positions. This is to destroy the Sons of Qardu’s and PKK’s means of offensive operations against NATO and Turkish national forces on Bozcaada.
S-2 estimates there are 75-100 fighters left in the city who have apparently blended with local residents. Most of the Kurdish population supports the insurgency, while Turks and Arabs oppose it and support Turkish and NATO security operations.
OBJ Trident, the city's port, is confirmed to be held by PKK forces who have been patrolling the harbor on foot and by boat. OBJ Rampart, the historic Turkish castle ruins, is suspected to be occupied by enemy forces. Several civilians vehicles have been observed moving in and out of the complex. POI Bullhorn is a beachfront compound that overwatches the approach to OBJ Trident and may be held by enemy forces. POI Bullhorn is a communications hub with Kurdish language radio station and cellphone repeater.
Second Platoon “Griffins” is tasked with reconnaissance of the patrol area in order to obtain critical battlefield intelligence on enemy targets hidden in Merkez. Further, scouts must be prepared to provide overwatch and AT support for First Platoon. Need for additional patrolling in support of infantry forces s anticipated.
First Platoon “Widowmakers” is tasked with clearing Merkez of all Kurdish insurgents (SoQ/PKK) in order to facilitate transfer of command of local security operations back to Turkish Land Forces.
3CAB “Falcons” is tasked with general aviation duties in support of ground forces, including but not limited to transport, resupply, and CAS.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT: Military age male with uniform and weapon. There are no Turkish military or police forces active on Bozcaada. Use of explosives in the city is restricted due to the large civilian presence and number of historical sites. Civilians caught housing or hiding insurgents are to be detained for questioning by S-2.
